Privacy Policy

Summary

We do not collect any data. VeryContent is a local-first desktop application. No data is sent to our servers because we do not operate any servers. There are no accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, and no cloud sync.

What data the app collects

VeryContent does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any infrastructure controlled by us.

Data stored on your machine

The app stores the following data locally on your own computer:

• Video metadata — file paths, filenames, and transcription status, stored in a local SQLite database.
• Transcripts and drafts — saved as Markdown files on your local filesystem and optionally in your Obsidian vault.
• Settings — your preferences (video directory, chosen LLM provider, Obsidian vault path) stored in the local database.
• API keys and OAuth tokens — stored in your operating system’s secure keychain via flutter_secure_storage.

All of this data stays on your machine. We have no way to access it.

Third-party services

VeryContent communicates directly with third-party services you choose to connect:

• LLM providers (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama) — when you generate content, the transcript text and your prompt are sent to the provider you selected, using your API key. We never see these requests.
• YouTube & TikTok — when you download videos, OAuth authentication and API requests happen directly between the app and the platform.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them before use.

No telemetry

VeryContent does not include any analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or usage-tracking code. We have no insight into how you use the application.

No accounts

There is no registration, no login, and no user account system. The application is downloaded and used entirely offline.

Children’s privacy

The application is not directed at children under 13. We do not collect any data from any user, regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
